Ok, don’t act like you’ve never met a phony in California, they’re everywhere, because I have met a lot of phony’s in my business, dealing’s with the Porn World on my XXX porn news site, these are people who believe that they’re something or are going to become something, that they don’t have the talent to become; which is famous. I have the experience and have run into enough of these types of people, to explain the “Great American Phony”. The other night while I was working in a bar, I ran into a phony, who has no experience at being a Director,
but he left everything in his financially unstable, one horse town, where he was a wedding photographer and had just gotten off the bus and was going to become a Director. So I had to tell him, no major film director, walks into a major film studio and gets a job directing. I told him that he would have to go down to one of the major film studios and ask if they need any production assistants, because that’s how everyone who directs, gets started in the film business. The only other way, to become a major motion picture Director, is to walk into a studio with a couple million dollars and a script, but most Directors today, start at the bottom and work their way to the top and become Directors. The one thing that all of the Great American Phonies have in common, is that most of them don’t actually like hard work, and I believe it’s all about the “dream” of becoming a “famous
Director”, not actually having to work, to achieve any of their goals.
I was born in California and I couldn’t even begin to tell you, how many of these people, that I have actually run into while living in California, I believe their numbers are in the thousands of millions. Sometimes watching a delusional person’s dreams get smashed into a million pieces, is worse then seeing that same person, get hit by a car. Why? Because the car-crash that killed them, only took a couple of seconds, but watching them die from the emotional disappointment of their dreams crashing to the ground, is a lot worse and it’s a very slow death, I’d compare it with a flesh eating virus, that would take years to kill you or skin cancer. It’s especially bad, if you’re in love with a person like this.
I guess, because I grew up in California, where people come to
“make-it”, that I wound up realizing at a young age, that I knew better, then setting myself up for the disappointment in the fame game. Because becoming famous is a game, it’s a lot like Russian roulette. I have never had that all to popular quest of becoming a super-star; “whatever the hell that means?” I’m the type of person, who believes in trying my hardest to make things work out and I’m not the type of person to beat a dead horse, because some dreams cannot be revived. But I have known a lot of people, who had mansions next to that river called denial, in fact, some of the people that I have known owned lot’s of property in and next to the river called denial. The denial being that they were never going to make it. I dated a wanna-be director once, he sold used computer screens on the internet, and his biggest contribution to directing, was a 30 minute short, that he
was going to sell and of course him and all of his other phony friend’s were in this short movie and working for free, that movie sucked and made me realize that I was with a giant-delusional-phony… When you’re dating or having casual sex with someone, you can’t tell them that they’re never going to make it and that their ideas for making money or becoming famous are going to lead them to failure. I actually did tell one of my friends, that his ideas sucked, but he’s such a supper-giant-phony, he actually got mad, because the one thing that the American Phony can’t handle is the truth.
