Ok, first off I can’t make a full opinion because…. THE BLOODY THEATRE DIDN"T SET IT UP RIGHT!!!!! GHA!!! I could shoot them!! Stupid stupid stupid people!! I don’t care if it’s 10 am and you’re using different equipment than normal!! I don’t care if you would have had to stop the movie so that you could fix it! IT WAS MISSING THE WHOLE RED CHANNEL!!! GHA!!! SO YEAH. Ya know all those cool bright red countdown clocks? YEAH. They were GREY. OR BLACK! So you couldn’t even see it!! And the explosions were YELLOW!!! I could shoot them. /rant

But even with that, I still got chills and wanted to cry because I forgot how great these characters really are.
As far as the new animation- definitely crisp and pretty. 99% of the time it was the exact same storyboarding, angles, lines etc. Couple CGI addins, a sort of oooh-look-what-we-can-do-now sort of thing. Couple of the angels got a few shiny upgrades. 🙂 Seemed sortof like a… I dunno a Rebuild lol.
I didn’t notice too much gone though… I thought they kept it really concise…. kept the psychology, the action, the underwear-flying-everywhere scene, (hehe… he’s clumsy).

OH! And they dubbed it! The poopheads. But I have to give them credit, they really really tried on this one. I was actually particularly impressed with Rei. Thank GOD they changed Rei’s voice actress from the series… 1.0’s Rei was actually pretty good, she had the same emotionless robotic feel that Megumi Hayashibara had (whereas the series English seiyuu sounded like ‘Oh I’m so winsome and alone, woe is me I’m talking really soft’ gag me). Shinji was the worst, Misato took a lot of getting used to. Ritsuko was decent. Gendo was fine. What impressed me the most was the sounds…. you could tell they really tried to inject the right amount of emotion. When he was screaming, you knew that actor was really screaming his lungs out. So, props to them. 🙂

If I didn’t psychotically love every last one of the Japanese voice actors in Eva down to the little minor characters — and wasn’t jumping at the chance to hear Rei & them in beautiful movie theatre sound quality — I wouldn’t resent them at all for dubbing it. (Jordan still wouldn’t forgive them though)

Bills 2011 Draft Review: How the More Things Change, the More They Stay the Same
From friends I spoke with, reports in the Buffalo media, Buffalo sports talk radio and even to articles here, I assuredly got an intense sense of trepidation from followers of the Bills regarding the draft.  Much of the concern centered around whether or not a quarterback would be taken, which one if one was and an ample amount of spirited debate concerning the availability or selection of one …

Dueling over Linda Lovelace
The film world is sufficiently enamored of Linda Lovelace to develop not one but two biopics about the porn pioneer. But can even one get off the ground?

Housing or Entrepreneurs?
The spin continues. Today’s The Age reports, “ANZ bumper proft [sic]”. We assume a “proft” is the same as a profit. The paper explains: “ANZ Bank has posted a record first-half profit of $ 2.664 billion, up 38 per cent on the corresponding period last year…
