how do u all feel about the 2 hi-def DVD formats? Will you buy 2 players or wait til one format wins?

Question by tlksump: how do u all feel about the 2 hi-def DVD formats? Will you buy 2 players or wait til one format wins?
I can say with utmost certainty that there is no way in heck I am going to spend all that money to first buy a hi def t.v, then 2 DVD players to be able to play both formats. Just isn’t happening. And I don’t know how those movie studios think that they’re doing themselves or the public any favors by picking sides, and making people either go witth out certain movies or pay more in order to play both kinds. It’s a crock of sh**t and I hope sales of both formats tank until there is a darn winner in this silly war and one format prevails. Cause I tell you what! I’ll be content never upgrading to hi-def discs ever, sticking with the orginal kind if movie studios and software companies persist on being stuborn and not doing what is best for everyone. A clearer, more defined picture isn’t so important to me that I’m willing to allow hollywood and silicoan valley to jerk me around just so thay can in my opinion try and recoup what they’ve lost to online piracy.
What they’re doing now won’t help if that was their motive for doing this in the first place.
I’m rather disapointed in the lack of responses to this question. I would have though there’d be more outrage over this issue. Guess I was wrong.

Blu Ray is GOING to win. It already has a HIGH lead. But here are some facts on both the HI-Def, and Blu Ray products.

-Both do the SAME thing.
-PS3 has a Blu Ray player on it.
-XBOX360 has a Hi-Def player on it.

The reason why Blu Ray wins, is because Blockbuster is turning all of its stock (Reg. DVD’s), into Blu Ray, they have a deal with Sony.

They have already started carrying alot of titles on Blu Ray, and within two years Blockbuster will not even rent regular DVD’s.

Oh yeah… one more thing…

A regular DVD player wont play Blu Ray or Hi-Def, but a Blu Ray player will play regular DVD’s.

I will eventually (when the price goes down), but a PS3, I play games and I figure…. why not kill 2 birds with one stone. I mean, I can spend 400 dollars on JUST a Blu Ray player, or I can buy a PS3 for 450, and have a game system that is brand new, and play Blockbuster movies…

It does have some REALLY awesome features.
