Question by Asher: why is my file size so big when i make a movie in after effects?
a ten second composition thats 460*860 is coming out to be a 330 mb file even after i render it. does anyone know why? thanks!

because it’s uncompressed.

video files by their very nature are huge in their raw size, you will need to compress it with a codec such as xvid to bring it down to a more reasonable size – a two hour (or longer) movie can fit in 700mb if you compress it. without, it would be MANY gigs – even larger than a standard blank dvd.
