The Stand is an epic end of the world novel and would make an excellent movie! It would blow every other end of the world movie out of the water, and make them look bad. It would be a great movie. Why hasn’t a film company contacted Stephen King about getting the rights to make a movie based on that novel?

I believe someone just announced that The Stand was in pre production. So there should be a theatrical release in the next two years.
