Who is expecting the negative effects of Beverly Hills Chihuahua?

Question by Here to Help: Who is expecting the negative effects of Beverly Hills Chihuahua?
A new disney movie, called Beverly Hills Chihuahua has just been released. As some remember (or have heard), after the release of the first 101 Dalmatians, lots of Dalmatians were purchased and when they didn’t act like the dogs in the movie (big suprise), lots were given to shelters and euthanized. Before the release of the second movie, the Humane Society of America made disney put a notice saying you should seriously consider whether to get a dog or not before buying one. It was on the end credits-nearly too small to read.

Now, as if Chihuahuas aren’t already misunderstood enough (they aren’t Accessories!), this movie will only help. I am by no way saying Chi’s are bad doggies, but like any dog they need proper training and are not meant to be dolls! BYB’s will be making the big bucks soon.

Is there anything we can do to aid the predicted (and very likely) catastrophic affects that Beverly Hills Chihuahua might have?
A horse lover- that isn’t the issue. I think it’s great that they adopted the dogs in the movie-but the problem is that people after seeing this will go and get chihuahuas from BYB’s or other bad sources.
