Question by White Oni: Which martial arts movie do you think is the worst? (read the detail before answering!)?
worst in as the worst representation of martial arts.
I don’t want to hear about how you hate a actor/actress or a movie that have some fighting scene but isn’t about martial arts (such as Bourne Identify), etc… If you want to point out why some martial arts movie is bad because of poor technique that make it look bad, because of a character in the movie that make martial arts look bad, history or fact are inaccurate, or something that is fine!

Personally I think Kickboxer is the worst movie. It is a fun movie, but after getting known to many Thai people and doing kickboxing, I hate that movie! It was a totally slap to their face. It make Thai people look like they have no feeling for the western and are corrupted, violent, arrogant, and women are basically a whore. Plus it made the sport look really bad and shady.

You could really pick any of JCVD’s movies for that. Even though some of them are entertaining, there is very little in the way of actual martial arts that you’re watching. You could argue that Bloodsport was one of the better ones, because it showcased different styles, but then again you have a stereotypical aspect to it as well. Basically all of his movies were an excuse for him to not wear a shirt and do the splits.

I think the best martial arts movie is still Enter The Dragon, because it showed a lot of martial arts philosophy as well as actual techniques.
