I have a play for a class coming up and I really want to memorize it so I can be in character. What is the best way to do this?

I suggest learning the script to a song. Find a tune that works with the script, and then sing the words to that tune. Then when you preform, say the words, but in your head you can hear yourself singing the lines.

Also, you could try making a movement routine (i.e. hand gestures, facial expressions, foot stomps) and then add or take away movements when you preform. I bet your director would love you to have more expression.
