What is more important for a heel to do: To sell more tickets or to make sure no one cheers you?

Question by CasualFan: What is more important for a heel to do: To sell more tickets or to make sure no one cheers you?
I know Vickie Guerrero gets more heat than anyone else and almost no one cheered JBL, while at the same time Randy Orton in particular gets cheered a lot. Still, I’m pretty sure that Randy Orton sells more tickets than Vickie Guerrero and JBL. So, If I was Vince Mcmahon I would rather have Orton on my roster.

I know back in the day it was the heel’s job to make people dislike you so much that people would pay to see someone your their a.ss, but this was back in the day when most people did not realize that wrestling was scripted. These days most people know that wrestling is scripted and I’m sure not too many people buy tickets to see someone get their as.ses handed to them.

Jericho, Orton, and edge sold more tickets than JBL, even though some people cheered them. JBL sold fewer tickets, but was more universally disliked. So, who was the better heel, and if you were running a wrestling company, would you rather have Orton or JBL on your roster?

Exactly my thoughts. 😛

I mean, things have changed.. Heels are cheered.. Some fans can look through the wrestlers’ characters…

Orton draws money in both ways… Some pay to see him win.. Some pay to see him lose…

I personally find nothing important in drawing heat by saying “Excuse Me” twice or thrice… Whatever, People will not pay to see Vickie, neither she is ever going to get beat down… Only thing people might do is change the channel.. So what is the point in she being a heel?

Obviously Orton will be on my Roster… A Popular Heel like him is the best for Business..
