What I mean is something like ProShow Gold but a download that’s free and good. No free trials or demos!

Depending on your moral-standing with regards to software..

You can either A) secure an “archival backup” from someone who had Adobe Premiere, which is perhaps the best video editing program out there IMO, and After-Effects is an add-on for it that’s worth trying.

Or B) Use the Windows Movie Maker that came with XP. Tedious little program, but it’ll do what you need it to.
