What cameras work with Windows Movie Maker?

Question by photobamf: What cameras work with Windows Movie Maker?
I am in the market for a new camera, and i know that Kodak movie files don’t work because thats what I used to have. I want to get the new poloroid digital camera but i would be using WMM very often and will not get the camera if I know the files don’t work. Am i making sense? If not feel free to ask me for more detail and i’ll try to explain a little better 😛 thank you VERY MUCH because this is a decision i need to make asap!

That is a good question. As far as I know, there has not been a list made of the cameras that use MPEG3 or MPEG4, AVI, MOV or other video formats.

It is too bad that there was never a standard for the video feature on P&S and now some DSLR’s.

Video cameras that used tape, had a common video format. When I shot using any mini-DV camera, it never mattered what brand it was. Same with digital 8 mm and VHS. The video capture card just took the video off the camera and recorded it to a RAID Array in real time and that was that, but of course our workstations cost over $ 40,000

Maybe someone needs to make a list of all the current still cameras that include a video feature and post it some place.
