Question by boney: What animation softwares are used in making movies like Happy Feet and Madagascar ?
Was wondering about the softwares used in making these films. Can 1 software do the job or more are required. Any help appreciated.

Animal Logic (Happy Feet) used both Maya and XSI. Dreamworks (Madagascar) has their own proprietary software.

Yes, you can animate with just one (Maya, XSI, Max, even the free one, Blender). But you will probably at least need a compositor and/or editing software when you put it all together in post production.
