well i use windows movie maker but my computer isnt really working that well so i was thinking a software would work better as opposed to a download

For only basic stuff, you can just use windows movie maker. You should be able to find it by clicking start, all programs, and then by clicking windows movie maker. It is very simple and easy to use.
