Video camera question? Trying to put it on Windows Movie Maker to edit?

Question by Keyne: Video camera question? Trying to put it on Windows Movie Maker to edit?
Guys, I really need help! I have a JVC really small handheld video camera.
I don’t know what information is necessary, so I’ll just list what’s on the camera itself.

JVC
34x Optical Zoom
HDD Hard Disk Camcorder
Everio
GZ-MG130U
Victor Company of Japan, Limited
001A

and see, originally this camera came with a CD that installed the software necessary to edit videos on your computer… only I lost it. So now I’m trying desperately to hook it up to my computer, with very little result.
When I hook it up to the computer, the screen says:

Playback On PC
Connect to device
Create DVD
Back up
Direct Print

And I’ve tried all of those options (except for direct print — I don’t need to print things)

But what I’m trying to do is get the videos I took (for an English project) on Windows Movie Maker so I can edit them and make it into an acceptable video.

But whatever choice I choose, I can get the videos onto Windows Media Player, and I can watch them from there —
–but I don’t know how to get them into Windows Movie Maker. It always saves the video under name.mov or .mol or something, and WMM only accepts .axi, .mpe., .mpeg, etc.

How do I change the file type so that it will open in Windows Movie Maker?

(This project is due in less than twelve hours!)
