Tips on Writing an Effective Web Video Script

A web video can help you to increase hits to your website exponentially and can potentially lead to a larger number of people buying your products and services. Using video SEO principles will help you to target your audience and get the messages out about your business that you want to convey.

When you place quality videos on your website, you can really generate a lot of interest in your business and services if your video is a good representation of your business. So how can you capture your audience and make your video SEO attempts actually work for you? By writing captivating scripts for your relevant and informative web video.

The script to your web video is the meat and potatoes of the video; the stuff that will really sell what you are trying to market and will get you noticed by others. The absolute most important element of any web video is the script, because without a quality, well written script your video will be lacking the necessary information to draw viewers’ attention.

Think about it: You would not enjoy a movie where the script was poorly written and looked at as little more than an afterthought, would you? So why would you not put the same time and effort into your short web video scripts as you would into a movie or television commercial script?

With a video script, you are able to map out specifically what will happen in the video and the exact dialogue the actor or actors needs to utilize. The point of your web video is to increase sales by attracting more customers. You want your video to explain just how fabulous your products or services are and why customers want to use your business. Your script should carefully address all of these elements to present a well-rounded web video to your audience.

Another reason why your web video script is important is that it helps to keep you on track so that the video is a quality piece of work that will be picked up by the search engines and will be ranked highly by viewers. A convoluted message or confusing, uninteresting information will lead to viewer confusion.

Potential customers could be lost if they cannot understand what you are trying to sell or explain in your message. A well written script will lead to a fun to watch, yet informative video that visitors to your site will want to watch, rank and share.

Utilizing video SEO is an excellent way to market your business online and if done well, can lead to some great new customers and an increase in sales. A poorly done video that lacks pertinent information will give your business a negative connotation and may confuse possible customers.

Keep yourself on track when creating your marketing video for your website by writing out a thorough script and making sure you are targeting all the keys that you want to. Scripts can keep you on the right path and will help you to present a professional and effective web video.

Producer David O. Selznick managed to expand this concept, and Margaret Mitchell’s best-selling novel, into nearly four hours’ worth of screen time, on a then-astronomical 3.7-million-dollar budget, creating what would become one of the most beloved movies of all time. Gone With the Wind opens in April of 1861, at the palatial Southern estate of Tara, where Scarlett O’Hara (Vivien Leigh) hears that her casual beau Ashley Wilkes (Leslie Howard) plans to marry “mealy mouthed” Melanie Hamilton (Olivia de Havilland). Despite warnings from her father (Thomas Mitchell) and her faithful servant Mammy (Hattie McDaniel), Scarlett intends to throw herself at Ashley at an upcoming barbecue at Twelve Oaks. Alone with Ashley, she goes into a fit of histrionics, all of which is witnessed by roguish Rhett Butler (Clark Gable), the black sheep of

Question by whimsicg: A question for people that are into music, art, writing, etc..?
A little context before my question.. I’ve been playing guitar for 15 years, been drawing for about 5, studying and taking a crack at screenwriting for about 7.

I’m 28 and have reached the point where I haven’t touched my guitar in a year. I haven’t lifted a pencil in over 6 months. At the moment I’m almost done researching the current story I’m working on to turn into a script. I’M STUCK.

I find myself wasting my days -thinking- about music art and all of that — but for some reason something is holding me back from actually doing anything. I think it may stem from fear of not being able to put 100% into multiple areas of interest. I’m also the type that beats myself down for not achieving perfection, I have a pretty childish attitude.

Is there any way of achieving some sense of order and control so that I can reach a point where on any given day I spend several hours writing, an hour or two drawing and a few more hours on the guitar?

My goals are ad astra; I want to write a great script (and sell it), I want to reach a level of skill in drawing/painting so that I can freelance a little bit and maybe even make a living off of it, and I really want to record an album.

But I’m stuck, nothing gets done, I waste my time drinking, smoking and watching reruns of futurama and movies..

WHAT SHOULD I DO TO BREAK MY RUT?
