Since 2002, the “Berlin & Beyond” festival has featured additional screenings outside San Francisco—at Point Arena near Mendocino. Other past “B&B” highlights have included a special showing of a newly restored version of Ernst Lubitsch’s 1919 silent classic “Madame Dubarry” (in 2001), along with a live appearance by German director Doris Dörrie, whose films were honored in San Francisco.
