SketchBook Designer 2012 Introduction (Tutorial Part 1)

Here, I cover most of the basics of the program. I focus mostly on the vector side of the program, including creating and modifying points and curves. I also briefly cover layers and symmetry. I try to go over all of the frequently used tools, but there are many advanced features and tools that I don’t have time or need to cover. If you would like me to cover something, or have questions, feel free to comment or suggest more tutorials. Some tips: – Strange things can happen when making long curves with lots of anchor points and placing a point back upon itself, the program may place curves all over the place and loop back upon itself, avoid doing this, as you can see what it did in my video. – Also avoid forcing a single curve around hard angles, it will distort the entire curve, make a new line instead. – If your curve bends around an inflection point (makes a loop), drag the end anchor point out to unwind it, or fix it by reconnecting it to something else with the modifier tools (straighten, smooth, etc). – Make sure your fill boxes cover the entire image, or they may clip the edges and not cover, or if you scale the image later errors will appear. – Use closed shapes for fills whenever possible, and use multiple layers (and layer folders) for objects so that you can move/manage your fills more easily. This video is a crash course on very basic drum theory for electronic musicians – sequencing. This is not intended to be a tutorial about actual drumming. That is totally different. Covered in this video: setting up a standard kit, downloading from Sample fusion, using FPC samples for one shots, straight eighth, sixteenth feel, cutting open hat, Snare(Backbeat), Snare(Halftime), variation, velocity, composition tips, and creating a Drum Lick.
