Rock & Roll Fantasy Camp Drum Jam

The Rock & Roll Fantasy Camp (April 29th-May 3rd in Los Angeles, CA) provided many highlights, one that included an all-star once in a lifetime drummer jam. The legendary Hal Blaine kicked off the night answering questions from the campers, followed by former Wings/Paul McCartney drummer Denny Seiwell who opened up with a track he recorded with Sir Paul for the James Bond soundtrack, Live & Let Die. And then with three kits in place, special guest and drum God Carmine Appice, Yes/camp counselor Alan White, original Chicago drummer/camp counselor Danny Seraphine, New Kids On The Blocks Chris Coleman, and the up and coming multi instrumentalist-power-house drummer Matty Amendola all took turns onstage. Then the floodgates opened with Jethro Tulls Doane Perry, metal-master Seven Antonopolous, Jessica Simpsons Gorden Campbell, LA session drummer Ryan Brown, Joan Jett/camp counselor Sandy Gennaro, Stray Cats/camp counselor Slim Jim Phantom, former Guns N Roses drummer Steven Adler, and Modern Drummers Billy Amendola all taking turns. Camper drummer/American figure skater and Olympic gold medalist Scott Hamilton said of the experience: As a true beginner the Rock & Roll Fantasy Camp was beyond anything I have experienced on any stage on which Ive performed. Being in a band and bonding with new friends was life changing! I have always wanted to be a drummer and now I guess I am!
