I’m looking for a free video software that I can use to make movies. Something that allows multy layers of audio, different effect, and if possible, multy screen options where I can have different clips play at the same time.
Any ideas?

The best free video editing software believe it or not is Windows Movie Maker.

Windows MovieMaker 2 is a capable little editor and ships free with virtually all new XP computers these days package.

Virtual dub
A powerful freeware video editor with lots of features, including a choice of compression codecs, splitting, addition of audio tracks. Excellent.
