Q&A: what’s a good video editing software?

Question by Nevermind7694: what’s a good video editing software?
Lately I’ve been making lots of videos for YouTube, Facebook and stuff like that and I’ve been using the by-default Windows Movie Maker which I guess does the job but it lacks of many things. I’ve also used Camtasia which it’s annoying to use sometimes and lacks many other things too… again, they both do the job but I am looking for something that expands my possibilities. I’m looking for something that allows me to add filters and effects to my videos, add several audio tracks, record narrations, make cool transitions, slow down, play backwards, add cool texts to the video not just in default positions but also in whatever position of part of the screen I want. I’m looking for a software that allows me to put 2,3,4 or more video simultaneously on the screen, a software that allows, for example, to divide the screen in 4 part and play a different video on each one of those parts and that also allows me play those videos’ audio simultaneously to mix. I’m looking for a software that if possible allows me to even play, edit, modify and even add effects to the audio of my videos.
Basically I’m trying to find a software that allows me to edit my videos like the big YouTubers do, like a pro.
If it’s possible to download for free on the internet that would be even better 😀
By the way I’m a PC user with Windows XP, I know Mac has some good software, I’ve read a little about them but unfortunately I can’t use them, which is why I came to you guys 😀

Thanks for your help.
