Q&A: What movie editor can I use to make the effect of a real person moving in a magazine or a tarpaulin?

Question by stephen: What movie editor can I use to make the effect of a real person moving in a magazine or a tarpaulin?
I have sony vegas 8 pro but the problem is, I can’t “free transform” a clip so I can fit it, maybe, in a magazine cover. I’m planning to use the chroma keyer so I can only get the person, some FX to match the subject with the magazine/tarpaulin backdrop, Photoshop PNG images (for transparency purposes) to add a little texture and text that would’nt cover the subject. In vegas, using the pan/crop tool would only change a clips size or angle or the zooming….you can only straightly manipulate the x and y attributes of a clip. In photoshop you can tnansfom an image perpectively. I’m working with videos here but i don’t know how to change it’s view perspectively…like 2-D perspective. I’m gonna mask the clip in another moving clip with a billboard. It’s disappointing that you can’t do that with vegas. I mean, you can transform a clip to a square, or small rectangle, or a big square, and that’s it. There’s nothing much else it can transform. Or if it can…how? Or what other software or method can i use? Pls help…this is for our mtv.

I use FinalCutPro, so I couldn’t answer your question about Vegas8… but I found this video tutorial that may help.

I believe this is the video software you’re using. The video is over 7 minutes, and the part about the 3D effect you’re looking for is starts about 4 and a half minutes in.
