Q&A: What does the role of Bastian represent in the movie/book, “The Neverending Story”.?

Question by Corey: What does the role of Bastian represent in the movie/book, “The Neverending Story”.?
I think about this film a lot.

I think of my own thoughts like the book, but I am not sure why. It’s just a story but this world seems so magical. There are real heroes just waiting outside. Are there? It seems so…

Even if I see someone as a hero, do they see themselves that way also?

Should I see strengths in others and allow it to compliment my world, my dream?

Should I take the time and plan a life, or live for today? Can one do both and be happy? Is that contradicting? Should it feel contradicting? It seems like some kind of tangled hierarchy.

I have been thinking about how this forum is like a journal in some way. I really think it showed me how to actually write my thoughts and how I feel like I have something to offer. It’s makes the idea of opening the front door seem like an okay idea. Maybe that’s what I needed all along. Maybe it took all these questions and answers to help me figure out that I have many roles.

One last thing, if you could read my mind, would you want a happy ending as I see it? Or should I have to read between the lines again? Everyone is so caring and giving here, I try so hard to understand all of it. I’m actually becoming a little reluctant to write anymore for a few reasons. FIrst thing is, I never really thought of this like you guys reading my “diary”, but it’s okay. It’s helped me tremendously. I have met so many friends though, I feel like I have to try to understand what they believe as well, since they can see my thoughts here.

I always thought of this more like a radio station. Like I was a DJ on a song meaning broadcast. I just like music, it helps me connect.

Another reason is that sometimes there is so much to be learned, I feel like I havn’t been trying hard enough.

If this was just a radio station, is it cool if I pretend to be a DJ?

The theme that strength does not necessarily rule the universe, but rather love. Which is of course, make-believe. In a realistic scenario Bastian would be meat sauce.
