Question by <3HoneyJacobs<3: Tonsilitis?
I have just found out my son has tonsilitis, hes only 7 months old, but does anyone no any tricks to make him feel a bit better, he already has nurofen, and that hydrolight icey poles and drink, because hes also been throwing up alot lately (different subject). i want to no what i can do to make him feel better, i no people frown on letting them watch movies at this age but he gets very upset trying to play, so hes got a matress in the lounge room and he lyes down and has a bottle while he watched dora, he seems to enjoy that so far, and its a rather big mattress so he just rolls around with pillows next to the matress so he can get of lol, but to stop the pain i just cannot think of anything, hes not suppose to be eating food atm either, only the hydrolight sticks or whatever there called and formula! any tips for helping the healing process as well would be handy…

I think you may be best just trying to ease the pain and discomfort as much as possible, and keeping him distracted. It sounds like your mattress in the lounge idea is working well for you. Sucking on the electrolye freezees should be helping a lot. Another idea could be to offer his formula to him cold rather than at room temperature or warm. Then again, the warmth may help sooth and comfort him better. Experiment to see which works best.

Another option could be to put a humidifier or vaporizer in his room (unless you are already in a really humid area). The extra moisture in the air may help sooth him and his throat a bit. You could also give him some infant tylenol to ease the pain if he seems to be really uncomfortable. Good luck with what ever you decide.
