You’re single. You’re lonely. You feel pressure around you from friends or family to hurry up and find Mr. Right. You’re beginning to give up hope and have resorted to online dating profiles, and looking at every single man around you as your potential match. Sound like you?
I’ve been there. I’ve been the girl curled up on the couch, glass of wine in one hand, chocolate in the other. Watching mind numbing television while curled up on the couch and crying about the fact that I was alone.
I had potential love interests, but they didn’t work out. I realized something, my desperation and wanting a relationship so bad is something these men picked up on.
It was a warning sign. A warning I might rush into things. That I might be needy, possessive, and insecure.
So I just stopped. I snapped myself out of it. I started creating goals for myself to focus on other then the fact that I was alone.
1. Getting in shape – For YOU and your health, not for any man.
2. Go back to school – Focus on getting a degree. Already have one? Take some fun classes: learn a language, scuba diving, sewing, whatever floats your boat.
3. That promotion you want – Leave your personal worries about life behind at work. Work hard, learn your strengths and make them stronger. Learn your weakness’s and work on fixing them.
4. Your kids – Have kids? Think they don’t notice mommy’s sad all the time? They do. Take time to take them to the park, on a picnic, out to a childrens museum.
5. Have fun – Leave kitty fluffykins at home..he’ll be fine. Go to concerts, out to the movies, a night at a club, a museum, a tourist attraction in your area that you’ve never been to even though you’ve lived there all your life.
Point is…get busy. The more you sit around and think about how lonely you are, the lonlier and more desperate you are going to become. No matter how well you try to hide it, men are going to zone in on that desperation.
Only men that are losers or players want a desperate woman.
