Q&A: Movie Making Dilemma! Any Cords to help with this?

Question by Y Power: Movie Making Dilemma! Any Cords to help with this?
Hello I am making a movie for school. We have taped it all using my moms old skool video camera that still has the little tapes that kind-of look like cassettes. I put it on our Philips DVD player/recorder. You can select to “Hide” certain things and have other things “Visible” so I did all of my editing this way. I then realized that when I put it in my computer, to test play it for my class it wouldn’t work it showed the things that were supposed to be “hidden”. So I took and tried to import the video that was on the dvd into my video editing software on my computer (Windows Movie Maker) and it said it couldn’t capture the footage. So i was wondering is there a cord that we can buy that goes from the DVD player into the computer or from the camera into the computer. Neither came with one. Thanks for any help I can get!!

i just went through the same problem myself. my old school camcorder has the little cassetes. what i did was got a cable that went from the 1/8″ a/v out port on the camera, to the rca yellow and white jacks. the cable cost me about 6 bucks and works great. i have rca inputs on my computers video card. email or repost with model numbers of computer and video camera so i can give better info
