Q&A: I am going to get an iMac!!! Need some advice.?

Question by : I am going to get an iMac!!! Need some advice.?
My dad said “I really want to get you one, just wait until I get this house done first.” He is a carpenter in case your wondering. Now own to the real question(s),

should I get a Magic Mouse or an Magic Trackpad or both? Or should I get another mouse? (one will come with it anyway).

And whats some good software/games for it. I plan to get Portal 2 and The Sims 3 for it. I have Steam with a few now Mac and PC games.

Also should I get Final Cut? I will be doing alout of video editing but since my crappy laptop with GMA can’t do movie making very will I don’t know much about that stuff. (I know Fianl Cut and iMovie are not on Windows).

Also any good Windows to OSx transfer software (I want to copy my music, pictures and videos mainly) It would be nice if I could do this over wifi or should I just get an external hard drive? I have one but it’s nearly full.

Should I get iWork? I currently use OpenOffice but I am also considering Microsoft Office (Haha, never had this on “Microsoft: windows). But really I know not much about OpenOffice so if me learning a new one is the reason I shouldn’t get antoher one don’t worry.

I have played on a Mac before and em great with computers so migrating shouldn’t be a problem, or should it?

Also can someone send me pictures of their iMac (both 21.5 and 27 inch’es)? I want to know if I have enough room. I plan on getting a 27 inch, I like the size better and the GPU better.

Should I get screen-flow or something else (for recording your screen).

What about accessories? Time-Capsule looks nice but I’d probably be better off getting an external harddrive right? (Edit: I justed checked the site out and it’s not available. Plus the cached copy says it’s 300$ for cheaper one so no thinks)(Edit:It’s still there)

Is their any other things I left out?

Please no Mac/Windows hate comments, thanks.

That’s a lot of questions. Here are some answers:
Get the 27″, it’s awesome. Final Cut is great, I use it, but for the price, I would go with the Adobe Production Premium (student edition if you can). It has editing and other software that you will need like After Effects for quality videos. Time machine works with any external hard drive so you don’t need the time capsule. iWork is not that big of a deal. OpenOffice is free if you dont want to pay. I don’t love the magic mouse, but its alright. I dont know why anyone would use the trackpad. Get a Wacom bamboo tablet instead.

Good Luck.
