Never Miss a Movie with the Fandango iPhone App

Article by Neal

Fandango has been a popular choice for movie enthusiasts who want to purchase tickets online and in advance of a movie’s show time. In March 2009, Fandango released its product as a free iPhone app. This app works on both the iPhone and the iPod touch. Since this release, moviegoers have relied on this application to browse movies, locate theaters, purchase tickets, and read movie reviews.

With this app, a user has the ability to watch movie trailers. Simply click on the movie poster and the movie trailer plays on your iPhone or iPod touch. Once you have narrowed down you movie choices, you have the ability to purchase up to 10 movie tickets for 16,000 movie screens.

The ticket purchasing process is simple and Fandango allows a user to sign into his/her account to purchase tickets with a stored credit card, or from credit card information stored directly on the device. Either way, this app stores your purchase history. Therefore, next time you want to catch a new release, or a movie that is ending its theater run, you have the ability to purchase tickets even quicker.

The latest release took user feedback and added new features to the application. A user may now browse by genre, “Opening This Week,” and “Top Box Office.” In addition, the “Near Me” features allows you to find the closest theater. To facilitate your trip, the Fandango iPhone app connects with Google Maps for driving directions.

To ensure a quicker process next time you want to purchase tickets from your iPhone, just add your preferred theater(s) to your “Favorites” list. You may also check out theater amenities such as wheelchair accessibility and stadium seating. If you still require more movie content, you may now browse by fan reviews, director, and cast listings. Now you will never miss when your favorite actor has a movie release.

Overall, the Fandango application has all the necessary features for movie buffs. The intuitive interface means that a user does not have to spend too much time acclimating to this app. This free iPhone app makes planning a movie date, or a spontaneous trip to the movie, a cinch.

In the summer of 1956, 23-year-old Colin Clark (Eddie Redmayne of THE OTHER BOLEYN GIRL) joined the set of THE PRINCE AND THE SHOWGIRL as an assistant determined to make his way up in the film business. His diary, released 40 years later, documented the tense interactions between Sir Lawrence Olivier (Kenneth Branagh of HAMLET, VALKYRIE) and the iconic Marilyn Monroe (Michelle Williams of BLUE VALENTINE, BROKEBACK MOUNTAIN). But a week was missing from that account, and this is the story of that week – an experience Clark will never forget. As he and Marilyn spend time together, she begins to shake off the insecurity that plagues her and exposes the many complex layers that have fascinated the world since her rise to fame.
