Making Purged – Character Animation

Creating the still art for Purged was a very labour intensive process. For the time I saved using Flash as an animation tool, that time was eaten up by the work it took to draw and paint all of the different components of the Angel’s body. I was surprised at how well Flash could handle all of the high resolution images. For some of the shots were there is 3D movement, such as a change in the angle of the head, morphing was used to create a pseudo- 3D effect. It’s something that I would love to revisit in a future project.
