While Hollywood movies are often made on budgets that run into hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of pounds, it’s possible to make a film on a much smaller amount of money – if you’re willing to rely on your ingenuity that is. There are some areas of filmmaking where you really want to avoid skimping on the costs – camera quality and scriptwriting being just a couple of them – but there are plenty of other ways to economise when making a movie, all it takes is a little dedication, a lot of forward planning and the vision to see how you can bend situations to your benefit.
