Is this a good business idea?

Question by Mark Jergens: Is this a good business idea?
Hi. I really want to start my own company and get financial freedom. My company would purchase or build internet assets (websites/web property), fix them up (adding content, design, marketing, etc.) to hopefully build revenue, and then sell the assets after six months for profit. For example, I may buy a blog on dogs for $ 100, ad some more content and market the site, and then sell it for $ 5000 after a month. Or, I may purchase a website script for $ 20, build up a nice site with good idea, market it, and then sell it after six months for profit.

Do you think this could be a good company for me to start? I know people do it already, website flipping, but it seems profitable. Also, I’m great at internet marketing, and my friend works for an investment company. He wants to partner with me, which i think is a great idea. Do you think this company could be profitable? What type of company are we?

That certainly sounds like a site flipping business, who’s title might have to do with “Virtual Properties” you can find good tutorials on that particular business, often the core of these businesses involves using shady methods to inflate the apparent visitor/membership levels and page rank, using paid members, automated ‘scraped’ content addition, etc. The most ethical business wold probably rely heavily on outsourced help to generate content and links. An overlapping is domain flipping and domaining.
