I mean, if you make an independant film, you direct it yourself, and hire the technicians,the actors, the FX engineers, the stuntmen, you pay the accomodation, transportation, restaurants, advertising and marketing,etc
For a brand new director/producer/screenplaywriter, how much money should he put on the table to make such a movie?

The minimum is probably around $ 5m, the majority of which would be spent on marketing/advertising.
That’s for something like Blair Witch, which is cheap to actually make – Final Destination is expensive to make and therefore would be far, far more expensive.
