How to get started in directing?

I want to be a movie director. I am planning to go to film school, but I don’t know what to do after that. How do i get started in film-making. What steps should I take? Will I get paid when I am making movies, but they aren’t in theatres nation wide?
Plese tell me any information you have on film-making. Thanks in advance!

Go to school and major in film. From there you will make connection with other film student, people already in the buisness and teachers who will no doubt be able to help you get started.

If you’re lucky a studio could hire you to direct a movie or something along those lines and then if you’re succesful they may bring you back to direct something else.
