this camera im looking at says you can make home movies with it,,,how long a movie will a digital camera make with a 8gb card? should i get the 16gb card instead? thanks.

High quality is ABOUT 11 gigs/hour. Many cameras limit clips to 2 GB or about 12-15 minutes.
Your card would get about 45 minutes in 4 clips. The final clip may be a little shorter due to formatting and other factors that use memory.
