I have a windows vista home premium and i do not want to use windows movie maker. any other suggestions and can u please explain how i canput the parts together?

You will need a video editing tool. There are loads of free one’s available. A pretty basic one will serve your purpose. I have personally used Wax and would highly recommend it. You can download it at http://www.debugmode.com/wax/
However remember that it has quite a steep leaning curve.
If you are on mac imovies will be a very good choice. It is really simple to use.
