How do I make video files shorter/smaller so that I can get them on a standard 702mb disc?

Question by j.knapke: How do I make video files shorter/smaller so that I can get them on a standard 702mb disc?
I’m using Windows Media Player , primarily , to copy movie download files to standard 702mb discs. Many of the files are just over the 702 limit. I don’t want to do any fancy editing at this point , just transfer the files and make them fit. Is their some simple advice you can give me on completing this task. Feel free to contact me outside of this forum for further interaction and information sharing at jjck2727@yahoo.com …….thanks…..you guys are all great

Yes, use DIVX. The divix encoder allows you to set the file size, and it does the math for you!
