I have to make a project for a class and i chose to create a short movie, like 5 minutes. In it, i want to put pictures, words, and some clips from youtube. so i have never done this before! and i need lots of help, what do i use??

You can use a program Called “Windows Movie Maker” to put togther images, clips and music. Its free with Microsoft Windows and should already be installed on your PC. As for getting the clips your gonna have to look around the internet.
