Phew glad this is out of the project basket at long last! I started more than a year ago when I found that in spite of this song’s epic awsomeness only a handful of people had made AMVs with it, and of that handful no one had used the full song. It’s funny really how much AMV making has changed since I used to do it on a regular basis — back in the days where if you used more than 3 clips you were considered talented and a flash effect was the height of technology. Back in 2005 – 2007 when having 500 subscribers made you a Youtube legend, and 1000 was unheard of. I remember the coming and going of different trends — first the flash trend, then the chroma keyer fad, followed by the cookie cutter faze and most recently the colour filters. An enormous amount has changed since then, and now I see AMVs that are so incredibly detailed and well composed that I can hardly believe they’re made by non professionals. But I also know that there wouldn’t be AMVs this good today if it weren’t for the original editors. Therefore I want to make this vid a dedication to all the original Youtube legends, many of whom are sadly no longer with us (in a suspended sense – I’m not implying that they’re dead XD).
