Do I need permission to make a 3D model of someone?

Question by Alex: Do I need permission to make a 3D model of someone?
For example: Lets say I make a video game, and the main characters look just like Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker (like in the movie Rush Hour)

… Assuming I never mention the names Jackie, Chris, or Rush Hour in the game, would I still need permission from Jackie and Chris to have 3D characters that look like them?

Would I need permission from the film studio to have both similar faces appear together?

How does this legal stuff apply to peoples faces if we are talking about computer generated models?

No, because if you are not giving them those names, then they can’t prove anything. People all over the world have a “twin”. It would just be a coincedence, thats all.
