Best movie maker & photo editor for the money?

Question by Joshua: Best movie maker & photo editor for the money?
I’m running windows 7, and I’m in need of casual, yet effective movie making & photo editing software. If anybody could recommend a suite with those and other software that would be great. If not, recommend separate software, and please leave the price.
$ 600 is quite a lot to spend on casual editing software. I should have been more clear, i’m looking for products in the $ 100 range.
