We’re doing an author study on Jerry Spinelli in my Literature class, and we watched an interview with him. When he talked about Stargirl, he said it was being made into a movie. I was really excited about it, because I’m reading the book right now and I love it. I tried finding information about the movie, and they say it was supposed to come out in 2009…??? So are they making a movie or not? And when is the scheduled release date? Thanks in advance! 🙂

A film version of Stargirl is currently being planned. The Montecito Picture Company is producing the film and was expected to release it in 2009;[5][6] however, as of August 2010 no filming has been done. According to Jerry Spinelli: “I’ve had a deal with everyone from Spielberg to Paramount for Stargirl. Two months ago, Emily Osment wanted to play the part. This month, ?”[7]
