my previous question:

How do i get my videos from my camcorder onto the computer?i just bought a camcorder because i wanted to shoot footage and make movies (i’m 15, not some pro) this is the camera i got:

i have everything in came with and miniDV tapes.
please help, this camera does me no good if i can’t get the videos i shoot onto windows movie maker. i hooked the cable up but nothing happened. the users manual only says how to transfer pictures to the computer. i think i need a card. can i transfer stuff if i use a tape?thanks!!!!

some guy said i needed fire wire. what is that? how much does it cost?where can i get it?where can i find a picture of it? and how does it work?thanks again!!!!!
