America (Razorlight) karaoke cover with lyrics

Razorlight is an English-Swedish indie rock band formed in 2002. They are primarily known in the UK, having topped the charts with the 2006 single “America” and its parent self-titled album, their second. The band consists of lead singer and rhythmic guitarist Johnny Borrell, guitarist Björn Ågren, bass guitarist Carl Gustaf Dalemo and drummer David ‘Skully’ Sullivan Kaplan. ‘America’ is a song by English indie rock band Razorlight, and is the fourth track to their self-titled second album, Razorlight. It was written by the members of Razorlight and was also released as the second single from that album in October 2006. It became the band’s first #1 single in the United Kingdom. The single was the UK’s seventeenth best selling single of the year. The song also peaked at #6 in Ireland, #9 in the Netherlands, #10 in New Zealand, #17 in Austria, #21 in Belgium, #22 in France, #29 in Switzerland, and #38 in Germany. The song is about a couch potato’s feeling of isolation and boredom by American Culture, when compared to coverage on America. What a drag it is The shape i’m in Well I go out somewhere Then I come home again I light a cigarette ‘Cause I can’t get no sleep Theres nothing on the TV nothing on the radio That means that much to me All my life Watching America All my life There’s panic in America Oh Oh Oh, Oh There’s trouble in America Oh Oh Oh, Oh Yesterday was easy Happiness came and went I got the movie script But I don’t know what it meant I light a cigarette
