Aberdeen & North - Friday, November 26, 2010

Wintry conditions have continued to cause havoc in the north east, shutting schools and making for treacherous driving conditions. An army of gritters and snowploughs has been fighting to keep the area’s roads open, as further blizzards and freezing temperatures brought more misery. Also tonight, a couple from Angus have been found guilty of assaulting children at a former home in Jersey. 62 year old Morag Jordan from Kirriemuir was found guilty of eight charges against four children in the 1970s and 80s. Her husband Anthony was found guilty on eight counts involving 2 boys. In sport, the Maltese branch of the referee’s foreign legion, jetted into Glasgow this afternoon. They’ve been joined by officials from Portugal, Luxemburg and Israel, giving the truncated weekend fixture list a distinctly continental feel.
