What is the muslim community doing about this?

Question by Ty M: What is the muslim community doing about this?
I am not Jewish or Muslim. My attitude if somebody is muslim, hindu or even jewish, would be “so what, that’s what he is. so what else? ” I wouldn’t care any less or more of him. Its the character, conduct and morals of the man that describes him.
Now, I know how the muslim friends here would take my question. I know true muslims are followers of islam.
And all those people that who do bad things and hate jewish states, blow up things, and does terrorism are NOT muslims, but they do all that in the name of being false muslims. My BIG questions is what are the muslim community of the world doing about this???
Even TV series, or examples quoted of terrorism or even movies make terrorists speaking in the name of Allah, whereas to me that all looks like bad rep., and I honestly cant blame the networks or producers or authors of books because look at the examples what we have?
I see and hear of more foreign nations fighting fundamentalism and I don’t hear much about rich and powerful muslim nations like Saudi or Kings of Dubai or Iran or countries in the middle east fighting these bad guys who bring such bad reputations and cause hurts and spread lies. (please don’t quote what Pakistan is now doing as something after much international pressure, they do 100 good things and 101 bad things and nobody trusts them anymore.)
I am not saying you aren’t, I just don’t know. I don’t hear, see anything? What are the muslim community doing about this? ??
Please advise me.
I forgot to mention. PLEASE do not fight or get angry., I asked this question with Love and peace in mind only. I am only a college student who is getting tired of all this decade long wars and lying media and hatred of this world, all because one mans faith doesn’t agree with anothers sometimes.
Socrates once said, ‘ All wars are fought for money and power ‘.
Thank you all. Your remarks and points are valuable and noted and I have carefully examined them.
Remmycool, you could have worded it a bit more nicely without generalizing, but yes, I see your point
Paperback, thank you for the additional info. I can see some wisdom in your words, but there are several other aspects I can see why some people resort to strict interpretation. People seek a constant in their life, a hope, faith,.. God. Many try to understand an infinite God with their finite minds and sometimes believe what they are led to believe, but few actually know God, know themselves and walk in spiritual wisdom, or have virtues of understanding, compassion, care, love, giving, humility, humbleness, etc. Many people are good at heart, who see this wisdom and that includes some muslims too.
But what I fail to understand is the lack of confidence, zeal, and perseverance among muslims to chase heretics among their religion or find and persecute them.
