3 Sales Script Myths

3 Sales Script Myths
There are some methods that have been tested for decades that still produce consistent results. There are other sales methods that continue to be put into action that don’t work! Well intentioned managers (some not so well intentioned) make poor, unsuspecting sales professionals, follow archaic sales techniques that are simply a waste of time.

Some sales managers think that any activity is better than no activity. They don’t care about your time. They just want to see you as “busy” as possible because they figure that if you are doing something you are bound to get a sale. With that logic you might as well just walk the streets of business centers aimlessly and hope that someone asks if you need help.

When you can avoid falling victim to the sales myths, you will save time, and be on the path to doubling your sales today.

1. It’s a numbers game – Along with this one you might have heard “dialing for dollars”. While there is no question that only a percentage of your prospects will work out, it’s important to track your numbers. After all, what if you made 1,000 phone calls and you got just 1 sale. If that one sale was worth only $ 200 in commission money, those numbers aren’t good! There are some sources for leads where you can convert 4 out of every ten leads and others where it might only be 1 out of 100. Analyze your source for leads to put yourself in a position to win.

2. You have to be an expert in your product/service – This excuse is used to send sales professionals to endless training events. When you are armed with the right sales scripts you don’t need to waste time mastering the most mundane details of your product. Just think for a moment when you are in the Doctor’s office. Do you ask them how the body moves takes oxygen throughout your body? Or do you just wait for her to give you advice on how to feel better? Be the Doctor; ask the questions that put you in control and you will be identified as the expert.

3. The customer is always right – This one has led many a sales professional down the road of providing a large discount. The customer isn’t always right. They don’t have enough information to be right. Help your customer to see what they need to know by asking the right questions. When your sales scripts pound on their pain, they will understand that they don’t know everything and they need your help.
When you know the right numbers and are armed with powerful sales scripts you will be able to ditch your sales manager’s advice and start selling.

Question by Darkcobra: Advise For Making A Abridged Anime?
hiya
me and a small group of my friends (we r small and so we r playing lots of characters each) but basically we have got together and decided we deffinetly wish to make our first abridged seris and we will be doing it on my favorite anime “Clannad” (dont think its relevant to know that but ohwell). now the thing is we have a few idea’s down but i was wonderin if anyone can advise us in any way for a script? im not talking specifics (so u dont need to know wot the anime is or even know its a anime) basically wot i would like help with is how to be origonal but funny? we have watched a abridged season of clannad and it was very good but unfortunatly wen we get together and list idea’s we could make into a script we fall blank as most things we say r rip off’s from the other abridged and we want to be origonal but we could like to keep our goal of staying funny aswell
any advise how we could be origonal and funny (were we wont be tempted to take ideas wot arnt or wasnt ours), we have established that sex jokes and dirty jokes sell well with teens nd young addults (our main targets) but we dont want some filthy show with just sex jokes and swearing (we wont deny it willhave bits and bobs in it which may relate to this but not the whole show)
any advise then?
thankyou for readin

My only advise is don’t kill the anime. Try just letting the jokes come naturally and original. If you guys have all seen the anime then you might have inside jokes about some characters/events or there are things from anime that can be play on lines to a joke. Im not trying to me rude. Honest. But I tried watching a Death Note abridge series and god it was horribly voiced and the jokes weren’t even the slightest funny. On the other hand, there was a Naruto abridged series I saw and it was hilarious because they played off the fact that Sasuke was “emo” and Sakura was a bipolar violent chick. So have fun and good luck. Hope I help some and wasn’t to harsh.. ^^;
