Writing a script to say to customers/patients when trying to convert or sell?

Question by Lila: Writing a script to say to customers/patients when trying to convert or sell?
I work for a large pharmaceutical company. I get orders on my desk and have to call the patients to tell them that their medication they ordered is not on their insurance list of preferred drugs, so their CoPay is going to be a little higher than before. I offer to have our pharmacist contact their Dr to talk to him/her about switching to an lower costing medication that works the same way as the one they ordered.

Some patients absolutely can’t switch, health reasons, but some gladly do it.
The script I use for this is pretty good, gets a lot of people to say yes to conversion, meaning they save money and we save money But I think it can be better. Can someone help me write a better script for this? The one I use is:

Hello. This is *** from *** pharmacy. The medication you ordered is not on the insurance list of preferred drugs, which means that your copay is ***. We were wondering if you wanted our pharmacist to contact your doctor about switching you to a lower costing alternative.
