Why switch from Anaglyph 3D to this new Polarized 3D?

Question by Jake B: Why switch from Anaglyph 3D to this new Polarized 3D?
I simply do not understand. In order to watch Anaglyph 3D all I need is some glasses, the dvd, my standard normal tv and the disc, whereas with polarized I need a new 3D tv, the disc and some glasses. Is polarized better or something? Is it a money grabbing scheme so Sony can make money off these tv’s? Please answer this, I dont see the point.

Also, are they going to stop making anaglyph 3D movies altogether?

polarized/shutter 3d is used in movie-theaters like imax.
totally different technology and not compatible with the other.

to make it easy: the old version is where u see the colors not matching
the new one is using two video-streams, recorded at 2 different angles, and the (polarized/shutter-) glasses are needed so each eye “sees” only one of the streams(loft or right), not both.

ever been in an imax movie runnin 3D?? go an watch train ur dragon and tell me if u get the same out of ur existing setup 😉
