Where to download an AVI codec for Movie Maker?

Question by Giant Taco that craps Ice-cream: Where to download an AVI codec for Movie Maker?
I want to make movies with the Sims 3 using Windows Movie Maker. The game saves the movies as AVI movies, yet, my Movie Maker can not import it.

I can’t seem to check a box in the options to download the codecs automatically, and I’m out of options. What to do?

The k-lite mega pack is a simple way to load up codecs.

However, I don’t think it’s a codec problem, it’s wrapper (file format) problem. I don’t think Movie Maker will handle .avi formats, so you’ll need to convert it.
