I need something better that windows movie maker.
I don’t mind spending some money.

the best, least-technical consumer video editing software is, to me, Sony Vegas.

it’s got a lot of good advanced features, but isn’t so complicated that you can’t just pick it up and go.

Final Cut Pro (for mac) and Adobe Premiere are also very good, but are quite complex and probably a bit esoteric for the normal user..
