What jobs could I get with an A.D. in film and video production?

Question by lidiya5: What jobs could I get with an A.D. in film and video production?
Do any jobs pay at least $ 30K (without making it big in movies or whatever)? Also, I always wanted to work behind the scenes in a newsroom. Are any jobs like that available for someone with an associate degree in fim and video production technology?

The options and horizon is limitless. The road to take to get there are various and many. A degree in film and video production won’t hurt, but it may not help as much as you might think. It is a brutal business that is very much what have you done for me lately. You will probably not be able to finish school and walk into a job. More likely you will have become an intern somewhere and prove yourself. You will need to continue to learn and keep up with rapidly changing technology. You will need to prove yourself as the most energetic guy on the set that is willing to do anything for the cause. You will need to develop and maintain relationships with everyone on the set (you never know who might be in a position to hire you next week).
It might be easier to take the local TV news route, but you will probably still need to intern and show them you are a valuable member of the crew and staff that is willing and capable to fill several slots (camera, audio, lighting, etc). That degree can help get your foot in the door, but it will not insure a job in the biz. If you have determination and want to and are a lifelong student your potential is limitless. You also need some breaks along the way.
